Invoice Capturing Battle: Human against AI

Is the AI really faster and more reliable than a human when accounting?

That’s exactly what we tested; our employee Lisa competed against the BLUDELTA AI.

Lisa regularly types up bills, but finds it rather boring. She processes our incoming and outgoing invoices on a monthly basis.

You can find out what the result was like here:

Automated Invoice Capturing a la carte

In this test we compare 3 types of Invoice Capturing using 25 example invoices:

Battle #1: Lisa without Assistance

Completely manual invoice entry: All values must first be found and then typed from the document into the form.

After the first few invoices, the constant concentration caused problems. Searching through documents for certain values with full attention and then typing them in with character accuracy is quite challenging.

The total duration of this manual invoice entry was 20 minutes and 28 seconds in our measurement, which results in an average time per invoice of 49 seconds. With this in mind: Rest in Peace, manual invoice capturing!

Battle #2: BLU DELTA captures, Lisa checks

Pre-entered values: The values found by the AI are all entered into the form, missing/wrong ones are added by the employee.

The pre-entered values were a great relief, and the complete invoice entry of the 25 documents was at least twice as fast.

This type of document capture took a total of just 6 minutes and 26 seconds, making 15! seconds per invoice, i.e. 3 times faster than just entering it manually!

Battle #3: BLU DELTA works, Lisa takes a break

Fully automated: Invoices that have been recognized with a sufficient score are no longer displayed to the employee, but are processed directly. Missing/incorrect values are reentered manually again.

All invoices could be processed in a fraction of the original time, since most were no longer suggested for additional testing or supplementation.

Thanks to the fully automated document processing by BLUDELTA, a total time of 3 minutes and 55 seconds could be achieved, which results in an unbeatable average time of 9 seconds per invoice. So five times faster than entering invoices manually!

  manual pre-entered fully automated
Total time 20:28 06:26 03:55
Average 00:49 00:15 00:09
Time savings in %   69,36% 81,62%

Conclusion of the automated invoice entry with the BLUDELTA AI:

Already with the semi-automatic recording by the artificial intelligence and the values already pre-entered, you save a lot of time and effort.

The fully automated processing can save further time, since documents that have been recognized completely correctly are no longer suggested for checking.

In our example, our colleague prefers to spend the time dealing with current HR issues and the concerns of our team.

How would you rather spend intelligently saved time?
